THE TUNNEL>

In 2008, infamous Street Artist Banksy organised the Cans Festival> in Leake Street Tunnel solidifying its reputation within the street art community.

The festival brought together 30 artists who adorned the walls with their work, transforming a piece of dull city landscape into a vibrant and exciting art gallery. Since then, the tunnel has become a haven for artists around the world, keen to leave their mark on the city. As one of the only legal walls in the UK, everyone is welcome to express their creativity on this constantly changing canvas.

London & Continental Railways Limited (LCR), the landlord of Leake Street Arches and the managers of the Leake Street Tunnel, are keen to support the creative community working on Leake Street and ensure that other people in the local area continue to value the contribution that tunnel activities bring to the neighbourhood. These Tunnel Rules> are designed to create an enjoyable experience for everyone.

In the same way the walls of Leake Street offer an ever-changing canvas of art, Leake Street Arches will offer a diverse and exciting programme of events.

Adding to the range of immersive theatre productions, music gigs, films, masterclasses and parties that our neighbours, The Vaults and House of Vans, put on throughout the year, Leake Street Arches events will celebrate urban culture in both the newly opened businesses and in the tunnel itself.

If you are interested in holding an event (including photo shoot or film shoot) in the public spaces of Leake Street Arches, please complete this Authorisation Form> and send to info@leakestreetarches.london. If you are interested in holding a private event in one of the businesses at Leake Street Arches, please contact the business directly or email us on info@leakestreetarches.london and we will introduce you.
