We’re all about championing new and innovative projects here at Leake Street Arches, so we’re excited to announce that London based company Paw Trading Co has teamed up with Shout About London to host ‘Doggy Style @ 26 Leake Street’, an all day dog market taking place on Saturday 29th September! Art Night is London’s largest free contemporary arts festival. Each year the festival partners with a leading cultural institution and curator, focusing on a different area of London to explore its distinctive identity, culture and architecture through various forms of art. And we are go….! As revealed in Time Out, this Saturday 16th June will mark phase one of the opening of Leake Street Arches. Following investment into the sensitive restoration of the railway arches, as well as the introduction of a new, state-of-the-art lighting system, (designed in collaboration with graffiti artists to better showcase their work) Leake Street Arches will be home to eight new independent businesses. Today sees the opening of a new pedestrian walkway flanked by hoardings showcasing the work of four local graffiti artists. The new access route connects people from Westminster Bridge Road and Addington Street through the Leake Street Arches development and into Leake Street tunnel (or vice versa!). Last November, we launched a competition for graffiti artists who work on Leake Street to submit their ideas and designs for the hoardings alongside the new walkway.
